FAQ¶
Frequently asked questions by patients/users on subjects related to the BiDiApp.
Patient¶
Can the BiDiApp work in portrait instead of landscape?
As the app is made for a diverse group of users, including mute people, people with bad sight, elderly people, etc. The landscape mode was selected as the basic mode with at the bottom big buttons.
In an audio call, can we switch to telephone mode instead of hands free?
No that's not possible. If you are in a public place and need privacy, the best way is to plug in a headset.

It depends on the care provider and the type of subscription. Please refer to the provider for packages and pricing
What kind of subscription are on offer?
As with the previous question, we have to refer again to the provider
What health sensors are integrated?
As the BiDiApp is a "white labelled" product, we implemented only a few bio-sensors, blood pressure, weight scale, glucose, thermometer, blood oxygen. However. if the device is not integrated or cannot automatically upload data, the second best option is to enter the measurements manually. The BiDiApp has a provision for that.

Medical Emergency¶
Who will answer my call after sending an alarm?
That depends on the call center, but typically the call will end up in a general queue and can be picked up by any operator. The operator who picked up the call, however, can choose to transfer the call to another operator who might be better suited to help s required by the call.
What happens when I turn off my app after sending an alarm?
Once the alarm is successfully sent, it does not matter whether the app is turned on or off. When the operator picks up the alarm in the queue at the control center, you will be called back whether or not the app is turned on or not. If the app is off, you receive a notification to indicate an incoming call.
Can I also make an audio call instead of a video call?
No, this is not possible. The connected call is always started with video. However, you can manually hide your camera or mute your microphone on the call screen (see Figure 8).
Can I call the operator back when the call is closed and I forgot to ask a question?
Unfortunately, this is not easily possible. At the moment, the only way to call the operator back is to wait a little bit and send another alarm.
Is my position transmitted with the sent alarm?
Yes, whenever an alarm is sent the current GPS is transmitted. These coordinates are sent only once, together with the alarm. The user’s position is not tracked at other moments.
Chat¶
Who will answer me after starting a new chat?
The chat request ends up in a general queue at the call center and can be initiated by an operator. The operator who claimed the chat, however, can choose to transfer you to another operator who might be better suited to help the patient, depending on the situation. It is also possible for the operator to call you via video or audio call if additional information is necessary.
What happens when I turn off my app after starting a chat or sending a chat message?
Once a chat was started, it does not matter whether the app is turned on or off. When an operator picks up the chat from the queue at the call center, new messages will be received whether or not the app is turned on or not. In case the app is turned off, they will appear as push notifications.
Can I already send a chat message before the chat was picked up by an operator?
Yes, you can already type and send a message before the chat session is picked up. As soon as an operator joins the chat, he/she will be able to see what you have already written.
Can I contact the same operator that I was in chat with earlier, for example when I forgot to ask something?
At the moment, you can only send a chat request that ends up in the general queue. In the control center, however, the operators can see the previous chat history and transfer you to a specific operator if necessary.
